Connect the bot through your backend
Receive Telegram updates in your bot server, send the user's text to Clydex and return the answer through Telegram. Keep the Telegram token and Clydex API key in server environment variables. The API key must never appear in messages or frontend code.
Control context and spending
Store conversation history separately for each chat. Limit its length, summarize older messages and set per-user request limits. Estimate input and output token costs with the pricing table. Group chats need explicit rules about when the bot should respond.
Handle slow or failed responses
Send a progress indication while waiting, split long replies within Telegram limits and use a bounded timeout. Back off on rate limits and avoid unlimited retries that can duplicate requests and charges. Review privacy requirements before sending personal messages to a model.
